What's New in the 2017 Ford F-150
There have been several major changes made for the 2017 model year to the Ford F-150, but we will sum them up here.
- Since 2015, all Ford F-150 models have been made with a high-strength aluminum bed and body on top of a steel frame. The new 2017 Ford F-150, however, will be the first to use no cast-iron components whatsoever, making it lighter than ever while retaining its legendary capability.
- For those who wish to truly take advantage of the performance abilities of the 2017 Ford F-150, a Raptor model will be available equipped with more powerful FOX Racing Shox™, six terrain modes and three steering modes, and a special tuning to achieve as much as 450 HP.
- The 2017 Ford F-150 will have a new engine and all-new transmission. They will be standard on the Raptor model but available on all trim levels.
2017 Ford F-150 Engine and Performance
The 2017 Ford F-150 pickup will feature the redesigned second generation 3.5L EcoBoost® engine. The new engine features two injectors per cylinder, new turbochargers, and standard start/stop functionality. Horsepower has been boosted by 10 HP to 375 HP, while torque has been increased by 50 lb.-ft. for a best-in-class 470 lb.-ft., providing a performance more impressive than even the current V8 engine.
